Betty Jo Wilson, 83, of Great Falls went peacefully home to Jesus on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones after a valiant fight against leukemia. A graveside celebration of her life will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 1:00 at the Choteau Cemetery. All friends and family are invited. Betty Jo was born in Choteau, Montana on March 20, 1938, to Benjamin and Dolly (Ameline) Yoctorwic. Dolly later married Lawrence Carrier who raised Betty Jo as his own daughter, and she grew up knowing him to be her loving dad. She attended schools in Choteau. At the age of 16, Betty Jo learned the art of being a florist and working in a greenhouse. She married the love of her life, Harold Wilson, on January 22, 1959. They were married for 40 years before Harold’s death in April 1999. Betty Jo is survived by her daughter Laurie (Bruce) Baack of Great Falls and son, Dennis (Debbie) of Helena; five grandchildren, Joseph (Nicole) Wilson, Joshua (Emily) Wilson, Brianna Webster, Sarah (David) Metcalfe, and Christopher (Rebecca) Baack; six great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with all her heart; brother, Donald “Ike” (Helen) Ameline; and sister, Laurita (Curt) Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence “Larrie” Carrier; and her precious granddaughter, Brittney Webster. A gathering after the graveside service will be held at the Choteau Senior Center where Betty Jo had been the director for 17 years from 1994 to 2012. There will be a memorial celebration on Sunday, July 4, 2021.More information will be given at a later date In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Great Falls Clinic Legacy Foundation.
