Bessie Deshner

Bessie Deshner, 96, of Great Falls, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017.Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Schnider Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Bessie was born on August 24, 1920 in Emmons County, North Dakota to Leroy and Georgina (Biddlecome) Hanley. She married Alexander Deshner on February 21, 1939. Together they had ten children. She worked as a maid while getting her certificate to be a CNA. Once she got her CNA certificate she went to work in a nursing home in the Cascade County area. She was there for 18 years before her retirement.She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, ceramics, baking, and babysitting her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Bessie is survived by her daughters, Patti Deshner and Mary Tyler; sons Art (Bede) Deshner, Paul Deshner, Chuck (Marsha) Deshner, Alex Deshner, and Earl (Julie) Deshner; 24 grandchildren; and too many great-grandchildren to count.She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander; son Vernon Eckert Deshner; and daughters Jonie Duncan and Georgina Eckert.Memorials may be given to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
