Barbara Sundine

Barbara Maryann Sundine, 84, of Great Falls, a retired credit manager, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 of natural causes at her home.No services are planned at her request.Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Barbara Maryann (Hammer) Sundine was born on March 3, 1928 to Arnold and Theda Hammer in Billings, Montana. She attended Billings Senior High and Eastern Montana College in Billings. She held various jobs until her marriage to Lyle Sundine in 1950. She and Lyle were foster parents for newborns and also helped pregnant unwed mothers. She held a job at the city offices in Anoka, Minnesota until 1969 when they moved to Great Falls, Montana, where she was a bookkeeper at Kaufmans until her retirement in 1978.She turned her focus to her hobbies of oil painting and sketching throughout her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and confidant.She is survived by her daughters Barbara Burnett of Billings, Nikki (William) Wahlberg, Penny Nelson both of Great Falls, Jamie (Lonnie) Arthur of Fairfield; a son Michael (Dawn) Sundine of Helena; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren with another one due in April.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lyle Sundine; a granddaughter Katey Rae Lynn Arthur.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN38101-9929, in memory of Katey.
