Barbara June Neuser

Barbara J. Akin Neuser, 72 of Great Falls passed away on January 4, 2020. She was born to Robert John Akin and Beatrice Sanborn Akin on June 2, 1947, in Butte, Montana. Barbara grew up with four siblings, Betty, Billie, Roberta, and Edward. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1965. On November 20, 1965, she married Don Neuser. She had a passion to work with children, which led her to becoming a daycare provider for 50 years. She was seen as a mother figure to many. Barbara was involved in many organizations throughout her life, including Living Grace Baptist Church, First Presbyterian, Central Assembly of God, First Alliance Church, Moms of Preschoolers, and Christian Woman’s Club. Aside from community work, she also loved flowers, baking, cooking, and playing solitaire. She is survived by her son, John William Neuser; sisters, Betty Joan Murrain, Billie Elaine Talifson, Roberta Leslie Kurkowski; brother, Edward Eugene Akin; four grandchildren, Jarod Neuser, whom she raised, Derick Neuser, Stephen RunningRabbit, and Brittaney Collins Neuser; and one great grandchild, Leighann Neuser. She was preceded in death by parents, and her husband, Don Harold Neuser. A public visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Schnider Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at Living Grace Church on Monday, January 13, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.
