Barbara Joann Jo Van Camp, 86, of Great Falls, passed into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 25, 2017 from Alzheimers.Jo was born in 1930 to Domer and Leona (Brown) Layton in Wabash, Indiana where she met a curly, red headed guy and married him January 12, 1951. She and Robert enjoyed 66 years together. While Bob was in the Air Force, they were stationed in many states. Along the way they had a son, Robert and a daughter, Kimberly. In 1968, they were sent to Great Falls where they bought a house, remodeled it, and established a home. She worked several years at Hoglands Western Wear and enjoyed all the people she met including several stars, George Kennedy and Red Skelton just to name a few.Jo enjoyed traveling. She and Bob would drive to Helena, just for ice cream. She also loved to RV and they went to 49 states and Canada. They were also very active in several churches around town, Highland Baptist, Faith Center, and Vineyard Christian Fellowship. She also led many Bible studies.Jo loved sports, tennis, basketball, and baseball. She was always ready to shoot hoops with the grandkids.She is survived by her husband, Robert; son Robert; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brand new great-great granddaughter.Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Kimberly.A memorial service will be Wednesday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
