A.W. Bill Fitzpatrick, 88, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 surrounded by family.Burial has taken place at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Bill was born on September 19, 1926 in Great Falls to Patrick and Barbara (Komar) Fitzpatrick of Stockett, Montana. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1944, attending Stanford University and receiving his bachelors degree, he then attended Montana State University in Bozeman where he received a second bachelors degree. He was an entrepreneur owning many businesses from cattle ranching to tavern owner; a civil engineer and Vice President of the Great Falls Gas Company for 30 years, where he designed all the gas lines under Great Falls; a WWII veteran; as well as a member of the Meadowlark Country Club.He married Josephine Afdahl in 1954 in Havre. They had three children.Bill is survived by his daughters Karen (Russ) Shaw of Colorado Springs, CO, Sara (Keith) Luoma of Stockett, and Amy (Ed) Bush of Navarre, FL; grandchildren Nicholas and Sophie Jo Luoma who he treasured, and Julia, Will, and Tyler Bush; sister-in-law Carol Fitzpatrick of Great Falls; and loyal companion Gus.He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Fitzpatrick; brother, Stan Fitzpatrick; and sister, Patsy Casteel.
