Audrey Stenson

Audrey Adele Stenson, 82, of Fairfield and most recently Great Falls,died Saturday, July 6, 2013 as a result from a fall on July 3.Funeral services will be held July 10, 2013, at 3:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, Fairfield, Montana.Audreys wishes were to be cremated with her ashes to be spread at a later date. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.She was born in Pekin, North Dakota on May 14, 1931 to Albert and Anna Enstad. After attending college in Minnesota, she and Roger Stenson were married on June 10, 1953.Soon after their marriage, Roger left for the Navy and Audrey gave birth to their first son Randal, followed by three more sons, Alison, Lyle, and Timothy.Audrey lived in many places due to Rogers jobs including Opheim, Carter, Sunburst, Cut Bank, Great Falls, and finally Fairfield where she spent many years.She had many wonderful friends throughout her life and loved being around people, even to her last day.Raising the boys and teaching school, Audrey was very involved in church and the community.She loved the kids and watching sports.She was an excellent seamstress and made numerous quilts and sewed various things for the grand-children.After Rogers death in 1994, Audrey travelled a lot, especially to North Dakota. She spent many years making lefse and volunteering at the nursing home in Choteau.For fun, she would meet her friends at the Senior Center and play a few card games.The last year of Audreys life was very challenging due to dementia robbing her memory. She knew it was soon time for her to grow a set of wings and fly off to Heaven where she could greet the Lord and join Al and Roger.She spoke often of being with them.Audrey is survived by sons Randal (Leslie) of Great Falls, Lyle (Janice) of Reno, and Timothy (Gretchen) of Billings.Grand-children Amanda, Matthew, Rebel, Megan, Melissa, Allison, Katrina, Nathan, and Tyler.Great grand-children Sidalee, Ryker, Blake, Lily, Savannah, Kohen, Kennedy, and her namesake Audrey. Special nephew Grant Brown Jr. (Buster) and wife Cheryl, nieces Mary, Karen, and Nancy.Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Anna, husband Roger, son Al, and sisters Oline and Karol.The impact Audrey made on so many lives throughout the years will go on forever.How blessed we all are to have shared countless memories filled with laughter and joy with her.The kindness and thoughtfulness she exuded could move mountains.We all loved her so much, there are no words great enough to describe.Although there are many to greet Audrey in Heaven, there are those of us on Earth that hold a very special place in our hearts for such an incredible woman.Audrey, you will be dearly missed.
