Arden "Wesley" Swenson

Arden "Wesley" Swenson, 80, of Great Falls, ended his journey with Parkinson's disease on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Park Place Health Care Center. He was born on November 1, 1939, in Gallup City, Montana to Arvid and Elsie Zilmer Swenson. Wes was a graduate of Oilmont High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Great Falls. He was employed as a public accountant at various accounting firms in Billings, Lewistown, Great Falls, and Rapid City, South Dakota. He also held a position of auditor with the Legislative Auditor Department with the State of Montana in Helena. After becoming a Licensed Public Accountant, Wes opened his own business, Swenson Accounting, and enjoyed several years of accounting and preparing tax returns for his many clients. He served two years in the United States Army in Fort Devens, Massachusetts. On June 25, 1971, he was joined in marriage to Romayne Brandt in Arlington, Minnesota. Many annual trips were made to Minnesota to visit relatives of each of the couple. Wes was a member of the Great Falls Lions Club, Sons of the Pioneers, and the Toy Club of Great Falls. He volunteered at the Great Falls Visitor Center and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. He was also a treasurer of First English Lutheran Church, Faith Lutheran Church, and New Hope Lutheran Church. One of his greatest enjoyments was being an owner of a Ford vehicle and keeping up to date on all Ford products. Spending time walking, reading, and learning about Montana history were his pastimes. Wes is survived by his wife, Romayne; brother, Arvin; sister-in-law, Arlene; special niece, Marcia; brother-in-law, Maynard Brandt; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvid and Elsie Swenson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Elsie Brandt; sister, Ardis DeBoer; and brother, Jack Swenson. Cremation has taken place. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial.
