Anthony "Tony" Kranitz

Anthony Tony J. Kranitz, 73, of Great Falls, passed away at his home on Friday, May 2, 2014.A vigil service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. A funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Schnider Funeral home is handling arrangements.Tony was born on June 12, 1940 in Butte America to Tony and Johanna Kranitz. He was raised and educated in Butte and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He married Janet Davidson April 8, 1961 and together they had 4 children. They later divorced. He went to work for Buttreys and was there for many years.He married Charlene Nelson on August 16, 1996 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Great Falls.Tony enjoyed watching the Vikings, gardening, baking, and was strong in his faith. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife Charlene Kranitz of Great Falls; son Tony (Barb) Kranitz of Great Falls;; daughters Janlynn (Ed Carroll) Rowland of Chicago, IL, Teresa (Randy) Knight of Milton Freewater, OR, and Deana Walker of Seattle, WA; stepson Robert Marion of Fort Campbell, KY; stepdaughter Deanna (Gavin) McHenry of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.Tony was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Ione Rice and Annabelle Mudro.Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 409 13th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405 or a charity of the donor's choice.
