A Life Well Lived
Hebrews 13:16
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices, God is pleased.
Ann Dobrinin was born on April 4, 1931. As a child, she enjoyed rolling a barrel while walking on top of it and large family dinners with her parents, 9 brothers, and her sister. She was raised in a large family that farmed near Kerman, CA. As the brothers got older and went to start their own families, some of the farm work fell to Ann and her sister. Tying grape vines and picking cotton were part of growing up on the farm.
She then met the love of her life, John Dobrinin. After three dates, he proposed. They married and moved to Oregon where they began to build a life together. John and Ann raised three children on the home farm near Peoria, OR. As the kids grew in age, Ann would take them to local farms where they could work picking berries. Ann would work as a row boss, directing groups of kids. She managed to save up enough money to buy John a boat one year. The only condition she had was that he would take her along from time to time so that they could enjoy it together.
In retirement, Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband to see family and friends across the Pacific Northwest and California. However, she especially enjoyed short weekend trips to the Oregon coast.
After John went to heaven, she continued to live on her own, first in Salem, OR and then in Great Falls, MT where she enjoyed attending church, sitting on her porch, and taking her family out to dinner.
