Alvin Krpoun

Alvin Krpoun, 85, of Great Falls, died on Thursday, March 27, 2014.A memorial service will be at Sunrise Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will take place in Deer Lodge, MT at a later date.Alvin was born February 13, 1929 in Drake, North Dakota and attended schools there. He graduated from Anamoose North Dakota High School in 1948, where he was active in basketball, track and football. He moved to Dickinson, ND in 1949 and was employed by Coca- Cola Co. In 1957, he was a telegraph operator on the Northern Pacific Railroad. Alvin was employed by Eddys Bakery in 1958 until he retired in 1994. He served in the Army Infantry in 1951 and 1952.He married Mae Jilek in 1951, they later divorced. He and Jeanne Sheldon were married in 1991.Alvin was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Great Falls Kiwanis Club, Eagles Club and Degree of Honor.He is survived by daughters; Cynthia Bouck of Warren, MN, Candace Mellone of Plano, TX, Sandra Krpoun of Miles City, MT; sons, Randall Krpoun of Brownwood TX and Robert Krpoun of Austin, TX; nine grandchildren; step-son Larry Sheldon of Helena; step-daughter Carol McCarthy of Bloomington, MN; four step-grandchildren and three step- great-grandchildren.Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne; his parents; and brother, Roy Krpoun.Memorials may be made in Alvins name to Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 3809 6th Ave. S.
