Alice Marie Tritchkov-Martinez was born on August 6, 1936, to Frank R. Graham and Ethel Norene Toler on the Quilcene Indian Reservation near Port Angeles Washington, as was her mother before her (Mother’s family was from Choctaw). They moved to North Seattle by 1940. Alice’s mom and dad separated, and her Mother Ethel (a “Rosie Riveter” for Boeing) remarried in 1942, to Lewis Laub. He adopted Alice. She then took Laub to be her maiden name from there on. They moved to Rainier Ave. in Seattle where Alice then got a sister “Dorothy” and a brother and sister that died as children.
After High School, she attended vocational school for Drafting. She went along with a couple of her girlfriends to Bremerton, WA near the Navy Base to dance. She started dancing with a sailor, James Jordan, soon to become husband and father of Stephen Jordan, her only child. Sometime before JFK’s death they separated. She later married another Navy man, the father of Rosemary “Rosie” Dussel, so Alice then had a daughter in her life. Alice was the only mother that Rosie knew, and they were always very close. While in school for drafting, Alice worked as a hostess at the Space Needle Restaurant. She got her first drafting job with the Bell Telephone Co. in Oakland, CA. Boeing later recruited her to work on the wiring plans for the Minute Man Missile and then the Saturn 5 Rocket. In 1974, she married Gregor Tritchkov and they owned Shelton Furniture Repair where she reupholstered antique furniture and her mother hand caned chairs. They also made custom furniture and custom entry doors, along with doing photography and picture framing. They sold the business and bought the Art Gallery at Balboa Island, CA in 1987. They later moved to 1000 Palms, CA and worked at 2 large casinos. Dean and Alice crossed paths over the years being neighbors with Dean’s mother-in-law. Dean and Alice hit it off and went to Las Vegas. On December 20, 2017, they got hitched by a little oriental buy (Elvis was too busy). They moved to Montana, leaving 1000 Palms at 85 degrees, and arriving in Black Eagle at -20 degrees with 18” of snow. Alice gained two more daughters, Christina, and Vicki. She adapted well to Montana living, thanks to her friend, the wood stove, and Bruce getting wood. She loved dancing lessons and music. She was a mommy to 8 puppies over the years from a Chihuahua and her prized German Shepard. She enjoyed every dog she came across. At the drop of a hat, she would go for drives to see what she and Dean would see. She loved the adventures of riding side-by-side trails and the occasional grabbing of the OS bar from time to time. They also enjoyed annual fishing trips to Washington to reunite with good friends, and fresh fish, Oysters off the grill.
She is survived by her husband; a son; three daughters; four grandsons; two granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
