Alice Matye

Alice Marie Porky First Raised-Matye, 59, of Great Falls, passed away March 20, 2016.A family celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Alice was born on November 24, 1956 at Fort Belknap Agency, Montana to Alex Bercier Sr. and Margaret First Raised-Bercier.She married the love of her life, Dan Matye on February 4, 1989 in Couer d Alene, Idaho. He passed away February 28, 2007.Alice enjoyed doing puzzles, camping, fishing, pow-wows, listening to music of all genres, watching old Western movies, rides in the country, collecting pens and books, and family gatherings. She loved fixing cars with her beloved husband.She is survived by her daughters, Gerri Matye and Laura Matye both of Great Falls; god child Michael Daniels; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Leila First Raised of Great Falls, Darrell First Raised and Ann Bercier both of Vaughn, Mary Jane Bercier of Great Falls, Darwin Bercier of Minneapolis, MN, Alex Bercier Jr., and Sam Bercier both of Spokane, WA; many cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends.Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Matye; parents Alex Bercier Sr. and Margaret First Raised; brothers Myron First Raised and William J. Bercier.
