Alfred Alfie McIntosh, 61, of Great Falls, a business owner of Chinook Windows and a member of the Army Reserves, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at a local hospital while waiting for a liver transplant.His funeral liturgy will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Alfie was born on April 6, 1950 in Great Falls.He attended schools in Great Falls and graduated from CMR High School, but attended class reunions for both CMR and GFHS.He went on to attend Eastern Montana College.He enlisted in the Army Reserves and moved to Texas for training and later returned to Montana and attended the University of Montana.Alfie returned to Great Falls and worked with his Dad and Brother at McIntosh Mens Wear and learned the tailoring business there.He met Chris Bartley and they were married on February 8, 1975 in Great Falls at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.After marriage, they made their home in Great Falls.In 1976, he started working for Sweetheart Bread as a driver and later as a supervisor until 1997.While still working with Sweetheart Bread, he started Chinook Windows with Tom Janzer and Tim Kirby as partners and Rick Carnahan. His son, Tim worked for the company then later became a partner in 2001.Alfie worked at the business up until the time of his passing.Alfie was a member of the Elks and an avid supporter of Eagle Mount. He enjoyed all sports, becoming active as a coach in the Little League when he was in Texas coaching his nephew and later coaching his own kids.He also participated in coaching and playing basketball and pick up games.Survivors include his wife, Chris McIntosh of Great Falls; sons and their wives, Brian and Stacey McIntosh of Palmer, Alaska, Tim and April McIntosh of Great Falls and Kevin and Leyla McIntosh of Spring Hill, FL; sisters Bonnie Hovland of Plano, TX, Jill Price of Sammamish, WA and Heather Pearson of Aledo, TX; a brother, John McIntosh of Great Falls and six grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred McIntosh and Katherine McMahon McIntosh.In lieu of flowers, please donate to Eagle Mount, 4792 13th St. So., Great Falls, MT59405Condolences may be left for the family at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
