She attended country school then was bussed to town when the school closed. She enjoyed working on the farm, helping with all the farm animals and learning how to cook and bake from her mom. The family barn was blown over a few times by terrible storms that the family waited out in their basement. The kids enjoyed jumping out of the hay loft of the barn into the cut hay below, and making numerous mud pies (some of them are probably still baking in the sun). They raised horses, cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese and guineas. Agnes graduated from Heron Lake High School in June, 1943 and Electronic Radio TV Institute in Minneapolis as a Radio Operator in 1944.She moved to Montana to work as a radio operator at Western Airlines where she met her future husband, Bill Medvec, who also worked at the airlines in the cargo department. Bill had to quit his job at the airlines when they married in 1947 at St. James Catholic Church in Sand Coulee because of nepotism laws. They moved to Bethany, Missouri where her husband went to Watchmaker School. They moved to Conrad, Montana and then to Chester with their two children and then to Great Falls where another child was born, and then to the Medvec Family home in Tracy where their fourth child was born. Many students will remember Agnes as the assistant school lunch lady at Centerville School where she worked for 10 years. Agnes was a great cook and baker, she passed her passion on to her daughter. There were always flowers, vegetables and fruit trees in her yard. Agnes was a 4H cooking and sewing leader for many years and accompanied her husband and family on many Boy Scout Camping adventures. She also volunteered as a voting assistant for many years. Agnes loved traveling with her husband and family to almost every state in the US.
