Michael Waring

Aug 05, 1959 - Apr 22, 2017

Michael “Mike” Lee Waring passed peacefully on April 22, 2017.

Mike was born on August 5, 1959 to Russell and Lois Waring in Great Falls, MT. He went to C.M. Russell High School where he met many of his lifelong friends. These friendships meant the world to Mike and lasted throughout his life. Many of them went on to attend Montana State University where Mike majored in Agronomy and was a member of the SAE Fraternity. Mike loved telling fraternity stories that involved living in the historic Story Mansion in Bozeman.

After college, Mike met and married Irene Hurst. From this union, two beautiful daughters were born. Mike and Irene raised their daughters in Great Falls. Mike’s career spanned over 30 years in the Montana Agriculture business where he travelled to various regions of agricultural importance. He loved interacting with farmers and other colleagues in the agriculture field. Throughout his life Mike was a massive supporter of Montana State University Bobcat Athletics. He loved attending the Bobcat football games with his family.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his free time hunting, fishing and trapping. He especially loved spending time at his Wolf Creek cabin with his friends and family, always loving to talk while sitting by a fire listening to Little Wolf Creek trickle by.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois Waring and nephew Zachary Rowe.

Mike is survived by his father, Russell Waring; sister Janet (Richard) Rowe; daughters Nicole (Patrick) Simasko and Amanda (Christopher) Bechtold; grandchildren Hazel, Jack and Harper; nephew Ben Rowe and niece Sierra Rowe.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, (TODAY), April 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Method Church, 610 2nd Ave. N., Great Falls. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Schnider Funeral Home.

Our condolences to the Waring family. Since Mike & I had adjoining territories in the ag chemical industry for years, we enjoyed many meetings, trips, and adventures together . Mike was a great friend and coworker whose life on earth was too short.

Waring Family,
Mike was a good friend and more than anything else a guy who knew ag chemical problems up and down and was the one rep who never let you down!! A class act! The knowledge that Mike had and shared with hundreds of farmers in Montana gave a huge boost to our industry...the one he loved...agriculture! He stopped by our farm for the last time a couple years ago to assist us with a mustard problem we were having....he worked it into his schedule because he had a daughter coming home to visit!! He took care of us and the family he so dearly loved and left all of us happy that day!! We will miss him but we will never forget him....I learned a lot from him and he never let us down...what a class guy!! Larry Johnson

We worked with Mike's father for 12 years at the Interpretive Center and we want to let Russ and his family know how sad we are to learn of Mike's passing. You never expect your child to go to heaven before you! May God comfort you through this great loss. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Bob & Cathy
