Adam Allen Hocevar

Jun 16, 1962 - Feb 05, 2017

Adam Allen Hocevar, 54, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home of a heart attack.

A vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 and a funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 both at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Adam was born on June 16, 1962 in Great Falls, MT to Richard and Marcia Hocevar and lived here his entire life. He attended schools in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1980. He worked at Montana Granite Industries for 35 years, actually starting with them while still in high school.

Adam was a very creative person. He enjoyed woodworking, building many beautiful cabinets, tables, etc. He also showed his many abilities in etched glass projects. Gardening and cooking were also activities he enjoyed. Adam liked an outing in the mountains, which always seemed to include a big bonfire.

He loved his family and friends dearly. He always had a special spot in his heart for the little young ones.

Adam is survived by his parents; sister Kimberly and her three children, Andrew, Alex and Madalyn Stucker; brother Matt; youngest brother Nick (Genelle) and their daughter, Sevyn.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Sue Hocevar and Kenneth and Marie Loftus; and uncle Fritz Hocevar.

We will all miss him dearly.

Donations in Adam’s name may be made to the donor’s choice.

Adam was and will be as true a friend as anyone could ever hope for, an artist, craftsman a purely honest soul that did not expect anything from anyone else. Truly exceptional!

Mike and I are so sorry for your loss. Some of my best childhood memories are building huge mountains of snow and sliding down them on saucer sleds, taking rides in the rain with Adam's uncle, and turning the playhouse in the back yard into a haunted house. Mike also knew Adam through Matt and Kim. Our thoughts are with your family during this very sad time.

As you grieve know that I am here for you and am honoring the memory of Adam. I remember a quiet, considerate young man who was truly a artist. I remember my mother saying when she admired the gravestone Adam carved or his grandfather, “Adam is truly an artist. I want him to make my gravestone.” And so he did and I now will always have a part of him. You have my sincere sympathy.
